My biggest insecurity isn’t anything physical like most would be first to list. It’s failure. Whether it be at a job, task, relationship of any kind. I always have goals set; I’m very ambitious. I recently began thinking of failure in a different way where it wasn’t preventing me from attempting to get what I want.
There are things, situations, and people that are meant to be temporary or disposable. Sometimes you get tunnel vision and become so focused on one of these things and it’s the biggest thing in the world to you. You fail to remember or don’t want to remember your life before you got an awesome job or a relationship and suddenly you’ve become fearful of being without it. But you have to think about all the jobs, friends, and relationships that you’ve been through up until now and you’ve managed to survive.
While failure is not something that I hope anyone feels like they have “become used to”, I’d rather the focus instead be on how they know how to cope, learn, and move on.
