I get asked about my opinion, from girlfriends mostly, regarding how they can care so much about a situation with a guy and they feel like the guy is just there. A soundboard really, where the feelings and concerns gets to just a surface level and is thrown back at you without a response you can be happy with if you get one at all. 

I know from experience that I would get so frustrated that I would literally cry in front of this guy I was seeing. His inadequate communication skills always bothered me and it would get to the point where I would end up crying and then not speaking to him. Super healthy cycle. I would be completely open and he’d respond with ‘Ok. Well you know how I feel’ like what I had just said didn’t matter. Because it honestly didn’t. Why would I waste my own time speaking to you about the same issue if it had been previously resolved? So that never made any sense to me. I was being proactive and being an adult and he thought he could just play it cool and not have to share. 

There’s no use in pouring your heart out to someone who is continually unresponsive. They normally cannot deal with their own emotions for some reason and would rather hide from them so how do you expect them to take in yours? It didn’t matter how much I cried or how much I was patient, hoping for a real answer or how much I talked in circles. He was always going to stay the exact same person. 

People are meant to have feelings, there’s a base where most people make their decisions off of emotion but you have to balance that with practicality or you will end up wasting your time. People who do not want to progress love to waste others’ time because they are first and foremost wasting theirs. A person who does not have ambition is sad. They don’t care about themselves even though it appears that they are completely selfish. So good luck with that.
